Food therapy focused on understanding emotions and building trust with food choices
Online counselling for emotional eating and improving long-term food confidence

Hey! I’m Ben, an emotional eating therapist

I support people to improve their relationship with food, and with themselves

Food has always fascinated me

This interest led me to graduate with a degree in nutrition and work in private practice where I realised that my clients did not need to be lectured about healthy eating. In fact, they were already very knowledgeable. The common experience they shared was that their emotions significantly affected their food choices.

After a lightbulb moment, I understood the importance of addressing underlying emotional influences on food choices and trained as a counsellor. Fast forward to today, I combine my knowledge as a nutritionist with my experience as a counsellor to support clients who emotionally eat.

What to expect from therapy with Ben

Empathy & understanding

A supportive space where you do not need to walk alone and where your emotions and experiences are acknowledged and understood.

A judgement free zone

A safe space free from criticism or judgement where you are accepted and free to express yourself.

Collaboration

A space where you are seen as the expert of your lived experience and are empowered to explore and make decisions that feel right for you.

Practical support

An approach deeply grounded in self-compassion to enable you to integrate self-care practices that provide emotional balance and give you space to breathe.

Food therapy supporting a healthier relationship with food without dieting or restriction

My approach is humanistic and person-centred

I wholeheartedly believe that change does not occur, nor do we resolve emotional issues or process past experiences, when we are told what to do or how to think. I offer a warm and compassionate space to enable you to go on a journey of personal discovery where you may stumble upon those ah-ha! moments.

While my approach is firmly grounded in person-centred counselling principles, I integrate elements of Gestalt Therapy and Transactional Analysis to support you to resolve unfinished business and navigate relationships that may influence your emotions.

Feeling overwhelmed with life or experiencing anxiety, stress, low-mood or depression?

In addition to therapy for emotional eating, I also offer short or long-term counselling to support you to deal with the challenges of life so you can get back to being you.

Kind words from my clients...

Ben has been a beacon of light in a storm and I genuinely believe I would not have regained mental balance without him.

I feel able to see the wood through the trees and have realised how important it is to prioritise my needs and spend time with the people I love.

You really listened and got it. I felt so anxious when we first started, but I feel I’m getting a grip on it now.
